About
Intentional Life Energy
The Idea Of Putting Intention Into All That You Do
Mana'o [mah-nah-oh] is an idea or thought. Used as a verb, it means to think or reflect deeply. Mana [maa-nuh] in Hawaiian translates to, the life energy which is present in all beings and healing power that permeates the universe. What do you think of when you think about health? For most people, the words diet and exercise come to mind. At Mana'o Mana it is believed that achieving health includes all aspects of life, from the relationships you surround yourself with to the food you consume; the quality of air you breathe to the amount of movement you have throughout your day. In order to become truly healthy, you need to find balance in all aspects of life. Understanding the power of thought and gearing your intention toward a healthier lifestyle is the first step.
The combination of Dr. Fischer and Mahina's personalities have created a truly unique approach to medicine. While Dr. Fischer comes from a scientific background, Mahina has a more spiritual and holistic approach. Combining their ideas and having the shared goal of helping others get healthy is what makes Mana'o Mana the perfect place for anyone who wants to take wellness into their own hands. No matter your background or current health situation, you have a place with Mana'o Mana.
How It Came To Be
Not Your Typical Physician
As a new doctor working in the American health care system, Dr. Fischer was eager to meet with as many patients as possible in hopes of helping them with all of their wellness needs. After seeing many patients routinely for regular visits, Dr. Fischer noticed that medications were only marginally improving conditions, many times at the risk of causing other long-term health implications. It didn't take long before he started to question if Western medicine as it is practiced today is truly helping those in need. He found himself pressured to cut appointments short due to insurance regulations and working in a system that primarily focused on pharmaceutical solutions.
While applying his knowledge of disease and the human body from his many years of training in conjunction with his understanding of plants, nature, and the body's innate ability to heal itself, he started spending appointments purely educating his patients on lifestyle interventions. Patients who were motivated to get off their meds and stop seeing specialists were able to get off as many as 19 different medications with improvements in all lab values. Symptoms of their “disease” and overall quality of life greatly improved. It was then that Dr. Fischer knew a different approach to medicine was needed. He, along with his wife Mahina Fischer, set their focus on establishing a space to share intentional life energy. Thus, Mana'o Mana was born.
